Got cheated by private car seller.?
Hi everyone,
I recently bought 1998 subaru outback from Lady name Jaqlin in Beaverton Oregon( Her licence plate number is “Jaqs”.According to her add it said it did not have any mechanical problem and I believed her, after I bought the car I took it for a drive it di have several problem. I got stuck in the middle of nowhere with my 10 year old son.I paid $ 5000.00 for the car and the repairment cost for it will be $2500.I do not have the money to fix it and I do not want to sell this car to some one like the cheater and lier gril did.My question is can I file the law suit aginst her? Its been a week since I bought the car and its sitting in my drive way, the car looks good from outside and its rotton inside just like its previous owner.Thankyou for reading and answering.
You’d have to prove she knew of the problem, and that will be difficult. If you know where she got it serviced, see if they have any records you can get your hands on.
Did you get the car checked out by a mechanic before buying? If you are buying a car without any sort of warranty – that’s a must – if you didn’t, don’t ever make that mistake again. It’s well worth spending a few bucks for an evaluation when dropping 5k on a used car.
