How can a car pass the CA emission visual test?
My boyfriend has a 2005 Subaru Legacy and we just moved from IL to CA. However, his car will pass the sniffer test, but not the visual because he has after market parts such as the exhaust, headers, ecu change, cold air intake, downpipe, upipe.. etc. etc. Since he no longer has the stock parts (because he sold them before we moved, not knowing about the emission visual test), he doesn’t really have a lot of options. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Some aftermarket performance parts are C.A.R.B. (California air resources board) approved, and most are not. You are pretty much out of luck if your parts do not have carb approval.
