How can I upgrade my ’94 Subaru Loyale (4WD, 5-speed manual station wagon)?
I have little knowledge of this model, as it is a hand-me-down from Gramps. The car cleaned up well, and needs minor work for one door lock and perhaps a new air filter. The windows have been tinted, and we plan to install a WRX-style scoop and a cold-air intake. I hear that the acceleration is sub-par on this model, and I’d like to fix this. Any suggestions? I’d like to increase the car’s overall performance, but it sounds like the acceleration needs to be addressed firstly. I’m open to suggestions for any upgrades, primarily performance, but the visuals could use a little work. Thanks, guys!
Also, I’m on a student’s budget. McDonald’s, oh joy.
I should have mentioned I love the great fuel economy of the car, and I don’t want that to change a whole lot…
There’s nothing you can do aftermarket that will make the Loyale any better than it already is. It was fantastic from the factory and should remain so.
