I want a car that I can put work into its engine and looks. Whats the best car, new or used, under $17000?
I was looking at cars like the Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Lancer, Ford Mustang, Subaru Legacy, and other various cars by Mitsubishi and Mazda. I also would like a car with a stock engine that is fast and powerful. I want to enhance its appearance with body kits and stickers and enhance performance with parts like short ram intakes and cold air intakes and other various parts. Whats the best, or even a good car for this?
I bought a used 300CE(1992) for $8500, from a 1-owner. Here’s what i got…

Of course, if you want to have what everyone else is driving…but even at 17K, you won’t come away with much at either Mitsu or Mazda dealer.
