are high milage 2000 and newer subaru’s reliable?
i have around 10000 dollars bugeted for a car and i live in nebraska. Really want a subaru, but because resale on subbies is high usually can only find higher milage subbies. I want a 2000-2006 impreza…main question is…are the newer subbies good past 75,000 miles?
Hi,
the engine and the rest of the car will be fine, because if you compare a 98 with a 2007 you will notice hardly any difference (of course some smal things changed but in essence its the same). So the car will also run 200.000 mils. It is more important to have a look at the owner and how he treated the car, because they are quite powerful, maybe he used it for races or so.
Also check if the oil change has always been done, this is quite important.
One important thing is also the paint. in the recent years Subaru changed the paint of the car, it is now way easier to scratch and even washing it will leave marks. My 2007 car looks worse than the 98.
best,
Simon
