I have 157000 miles on my 97 Subaru Legacy. I don’t think the shocks/struts were ever replaced.?
How often are you suppose to replace shocks? And how much does it typically cost, parts and labor?
You replace them when they need it. If you have never replaced them, all 4 corners need doing. I don’t own a Subaru, so I would be ge just guessing, but a competent shop can give you a ball park figure over the phone. Now, if the struts have never been replaced, I have to ask when the last wheel alignment was done. Struts and other front end components would all be checked at that time.
On my Escort, I replaced struts at 160,000 km (100.000 miles, but I don’t know when the rear shocks were done. All I know is they look and work fine, and were done before I bought the car.
