I would go wit the WRX for a couple reasons. The Mazda is front wheel drive and has way more power than you can utilize in a FWD car. They also lose their value like crazy which is pretty good proof that the reliability is not great. The WRX on the other hand holds value very well, especially if you live anywhere with any kind of winter. Performance is also better even if it has less power and torque because you can use more of the power with one of the best AWD systems on the market. The only negative I can think of with the Subaru, which is a deal breaker for many, is they are one of the more expensive cars to insure. Make sure you get some quotes before deciding on one.
