Which subaru should I choose?
Alright well I need a new car and I found 2 potential ones.
2009 Subaru impreza 2.5i with the premium package

Im not sure which one I like more. I prefer the styling of the legacy over the impreza however, I read that the legacy isn’t as quick as the impreza. Is that true? I’m used to having some power behind me since i drive a 1.8t A4 right now. I know that the impreza is a little more money but I am on a tight budget and would like to spend around the price of the legacy. Also, I want a good stereo in the car which I take would be the impreza because it has more speakers and I can hook up my ipod to it. Gas mileage isnt a huge concern since right now I’m only getting 20mpg with premium gas so anything would be an improvement. So any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I’ve owned both and they’re both great cars. If you deal with snow and ice in the winter, the Impreza is perhaps even better at handling those nasty streets. If you need the room, the Legacy is your car. Any difference in fuel consumption will be very small — expect 22 to 23 mpg in combined city / highway from either, and around 26 (maybe 27 in the Impreza) on the highway.
The Impreza is newer and has the stereo system you want. After full due diligence on the condition of the car (Car Fax, Pre Purchase Inspection, etc.), I’d recommend you buy the Impreza. Either Subaru will match or exceed the snow capabilities of your Audi, although, as I’m sure you’ve seen, Subies don’t have the beautiful interiors of the Audi (Yeah, I’ve had one of those too).
