Subaru hill climb crawl bad for transmission?
I have a ’99 Legacy and I needed to get up this rather steep hill today and as I reached the top I was going very slow (Im talking 1 – 2km/h), and this is off road too not tarmac, dirt / grass.
The car crawled up very slowly and my foot was 1/2 down, is this bad for the tranmission (which is a subaru 4EAT auto 4 speed)?? It sometimes smells bad after?
Smells like clutch(es) burning so it is maybe too steep – there are limits
