How are Subaru’s for mild to medium off road?
I’m thinking of getting a B9 Tribeca. 99% of the time for on-road driving, but a couple times a month I need to get up a not too tough rocky road. The 8.4″ of ground clearance of the ‘beca is good enough, but will it spin wheels if one or two break loose? Or will Subaru’s AWD system control the center differential and will all the electronic traction and stability control systems work with the ABS to keep it from losing traction?
Compared to suv’s, the b9 would be a much better on-road choice in terms of price, fuel economy, comfort, performance etc…Off road the b9′s AWD system and (relatively) light weight will get up some real nasty roads, the only thing that can trip up the B9′s AWD are things so steep and twisted you would never expect any vehicle to navigate it successfully.
