HELP: I want to change my subie’s timing belt. It’s dohc 2.5L. The dealer charges so much that I can’t afford, so I have to find a good technician who can do it at his garage.

It is very difficult to find an independent Subaru specialist in the Chicago area.

Personally, I would ask a local garage if they can do it. I would also have the water pump and timing belt tensioner replaced at the same time.
