Should I sell my car?
I need to purchase a new car since my fiancee crashed my Honda Accord. I’ll be buying the 2009 Subaru Forester next month. Right now, I have a Nissan 350Z and I love it. I can’t imagine getting rid of it but quite a few people are telling me to. I’m in college and paying the 350-400$ a month on the forester will be pretty hard. Should I sell the Z? I think I would go into a state of depression. =[ However, it would help out alot with the financial situation.
Blue book value is $24K Probably get about 21 after the bumper is fixed from someone hitting it or something in a parking lot. I paid 38 and have had it for two years. So, I'd lose about 17K which is like saying $700/mo lease for two years.
Well, the Z is such a nice car to let go of. It's the direct competition of those european pocket rockets like the boxster, the slk, z4... I'd keep the Z and even modify it a bit! But to buy a Forester and pay that much to the point of making your life harder? Nah. Why don't you buy, say, the 2008 Jeep Patriot Sport... it's only like 15 grand. 6 grand less than a brand new Forester. Think of it as your "everyday car", while the Z as your weekend car.
