Subaru Automatic Transmission Problems?
I have a 1990 Subaru legacy and it drove perfectly. I blew the head gaskets on and I just had to rebuilt the top end of the engine. I dropped the engine back in and got it running good.
I started driving it and it started to hesitate dropping into gear. Now it won’t even go into gear without a fight. So I started using different methods that might work. I tried using the manual mode, starting in first, wrapping it up to 3000 rpm and dropping it into gear, push starting it, putting the fwd fuse in, and I’ve had it. I took to a Subaru mechanic and he hooked up the diagnosing computer and it said it needed to be replaced.
I can’t afford that. And I’m not too sure the mechanics or the computer were right. So here are the specs:
Subaru Legacy L
2.2 flat four
Automatic transmission w/manual mode
Rebuilt heads with new head gaskets.
If anybody has any help for I am in your debt. Real help is most appreciated, not just stupid answers.
if it just started after you put the motor back in, then should should closely inspect the car from the top and bottom for any piched wires, or broken sensores where the motor and tranny join, it sounds like you may have broken a sensor off on the tranny, or possibly left something unplugged but if you didnt have this problem before the motor screwed up, then i dont think it would all of a sudden take a shit, but check for the wires and sensors, and if not take it to another shop and have a couple different shops diagnose the problem
