What model years match the ’04 Subaru Wrx Sti?
For those who know more about the specifics of these cars and when they changed what things on them, if my dream car is an ’04 Subaru Wrx Sti, for the sake of the body styling in the grille and headlights, what other years (before and after) of this car are identical, and outward from there what are the first changes they started to make, such that i’d be able to know that hypothetically while an ’0x had an identical body, the engine or drivetrain were different in some way?
Basically when the STI first came out in 04 it was just a WRX with the bigger motur, 6 speed and Brembo breaks. from 05 they got quite different than the WRX. Strut setup changed as well as the track. 05 an up STI’s only use a different bolt pattern on the wheels and are not interchangable with any other subaru models. 07 got a new turbo that was the same size but with a little better exhaust flow. They also got a little different gearing as well.
I’m sure i missed some things but that’s the basic differences. I would say the 04 is a good car cuz all parts are interchangable with other models and all engine and suspension upgrades for other models will also fit the04 STI too.
