Legal exhaust dB limit (Ontario)?
Hi, I want to add an aftermarket cat back exhaust system on a 2006 Subaru WRX STI. I was wondering if anyone knew the legal limit to how loud these exhausts can be in Sudbury, Ontario… I am sure there are bylaws and it varies between cities but does anyone know approximately how loud? NOTE: Because it’s a cat back, the catalytic converter would still be in so I’m fine there! That exhaust is LOUD AS HELL. A buddy of mine had one for his 08 STi and it was unbearable to the point where he sold it a few weeks later. I’m almost positive it is well over 90 dB. I don’t know how stringent the police are in Canada, but you will get pulled over if they do a halfway decent job of keeping the peace.
It is worth spending the extra money to get something that makes the car more enjoyable to drive instead of announcing your presence a mile before you get to your destination. Search for an Invidia exhaust system.
