I have a 2004 subaru impreza wagon WRX w/ 55,000 miles on it and just had to replace the rear struts.?
Is this normal? I do live in an area with dirt roads, but that is part of why I got the car. I realize it is not souped up enough for rally driving, but shouldn’t it be pretty durable?
The struts were leaking so I replaced them on the advice of the dealer, but I went to a local mechanic (half the price and they were subaru parts!). I could NOT believe the difference after they were replaced! So much smoother- I had no idea how bad they were! I have to admit, I do not carry around a lot of weight, but I (and an ex boyfriend) have definitely ripped it up in that car, but that is why I got it so I suppose I should expect more repairs than usual….
Sounds about right for the mileage and driving conditions you have described.
