What’s the difference between a Legacy and a Legacy Outback?
I recently bought a 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback, that was perfect save for a bashed-in door. I found a door online at a local junkyard, but it’s listed for a Legacy, and they had no distinction for the Outback. The contact at the yard wasn’t sure if there’s a difference, and I don’t want to get the wrong part. I’ve bought things like wiper blades and plugs for it, and had this same problem at auto parts stores, but this is a body part and I want to make sure it’s compatible between the models. Is there a difference between the two cars, as far as the doors go, or can I get this door without worries?
There is no difference in the chasis and panel work on the outback/legacy/liberty. Really just think of an outback as a Legacy/Liberty with higher springs and a 2 tone paint job.
