Suspension Replacement on WRX? Need Advice!!!!?
I have a 2002 Subaru WRX Wagon that has a fully adjustable Whiteline Group 4 (I believe this is the model…) suspension kit on it. I love the way the car handles and the idea of having adjustable shocks on the car, but I primarily use the car to commute to and from school, and the ride is a bit tiresome as it is pretty harsh and crashy… Does anyone know of an adjustable shock set that allows for a slightly better ride quality while still keeping at least some of the handling dynamics I like? Or should I just replace the shocks and springs with stock units? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Well I also have the g4′s. These are the best bang for the buck without getting a ridiculous rigid ride or unpredictable combo. Notice there are 2 different valving. Regular and race. As well the adjustment on the top. You could try a different set of springs. Ask “Arnie” on scic nasioc about them. He is the rebuilder of these.
Koni is ok but require cut and paste to install them.
Other then these options you would have to switch back to spring and strut combo’s to get a softer ride. Yet I would avoid the kyb adjustable struts.
Notice the wagon has a different setup then a sedan. As sedan has a different ears on the struts. This adds more camber. The wagon front suspension is more like the older 2.5rs. Therefore the struts suggested are based on this.
