Impreza (non wrx or wrx sti) add turbo ideas?
Thinking about getting a 2006-2007 Subaru Impreza
not the wrx or sti models because they are wayy out of my price range at the moment
I love the look of 06-07 though thats why i want to aim for that, not that i couldn’t get older model wrx or wrx sti for maybe better prices (if lucky) i just want this kind for it’s looks.
If i were to turbo it at a later time, would that be any kind of problem?
Would i end up having to basically rebuild the entire engine & / Or Just buy a new engine with turbo built in already like wrx models?
Or would turbo’ing it not be that big a deal? I mean it is the base engine of the wrx model right? So what is so different
There is no problem adding a turbo to them as long as you build up the motor. At which point the tranny will become the weak link so that needs to be addressed. In the end it will be cheaper and more reliable to just buy a WRX though. If all you car about is the looks, who cares if it has power?
Remember, Cheap, Fast. Reliable. You only get two.
