why my tire fell off?
10 days ago we took our car to midas to have them look at the brakes. A couple days later noticed a nocking sound coming from the back that kept getting louder. We decided through some investigation it was our CV Joint so 500 miles after midas serviced our car we were taking it to get fixed at the Subaru dealership. I was driving and noticed the noise getting louder and the car was starting to vibrate and I was losing my ability to steer the car so I pulled off the road. As soon as I hit the soft shoulder the tire fell off. My husband saw the lugnuts fly off right before I pulled over. Two were recovered whole and one had been snapped right off. Is Midas responsible? And was the nocking due to the tire not being put on properly?
we didn’t take the tires off to check the joint. Midas took the tires off when they checked the brakes. And this is the whole story. I never hit a curb, never went in the mountains, or on dirt roads. Nothing.
Did you take the tires off to come to the conclusion that your CV axles were bad? If so, Midas is not responsible.
I can’t see driving 500 miles before a loose tire worked itself off the car. It sounds like we aren’t getting the whole story here.
