Looking to purchase…what car model is best for what I want? ?
I am looking to buy a new car and want to make sure it is absolutely what I want and need- here’s what I’m looking for:
-Under $25,000.00 (want to aim for 13K-20K) (prefer to stay on the lower end but will spend more if it’s for the right reason)
-The safest that amount of money can buy (have a newborn baby)
-RELIABLE and as few problems as possible (Right now I have a 2004 Passat and it seems like everything is slowly breaking and when I need repairs the parts are hard to find & expensive.. or they won’t even carry an oil filter when I go in for a change!)
-I still want it to be a little sporty and ‘cool’ (what I mean is not a 10K Kia)
-To give an idea of what I like – Dodge Charger, Civic SI, Subaru Forester, Subaru Impreza, Nissan Xterra (I’m not a big fan of VW anymore!)
Ideally just a car that is great for a baby and won’t have many problems that I will still love!
(I’d like it to have Sirius radio…I love my music!)
2008-09 Toyota Camry (Relative has one, and it accelerates like a dream! Plenty of room, good ergonomics. Available as a Hybrid.)
2009 Toyota Corolla (Smaller than the Camry, but less expensive. Be careful and get the power package!)
2007-2009 Honda Civic (One of the most reliable cars. Ever. Enough said. LOADED with necessary features, but you have to opt for more expensive trims to get more colors. Available as a Hybrid.) 09′s have been remodeled!
2008-2009 Mazda3 (Another best seller, and sporty to boot with good MPG. Again, watch for power packaging. One of the best cars of 1008.)
2008-09 Pontiac G6 (Unusually good array of power options for the price, definitly sporty.) I’d go with the GT.
2008-09 Subaru Impreza (Affordable, and with AWD, which is very safe! )
2008-09 Subaru Legacy (Not sure how much they are new, but one with a couple thousand miles on it is practically brand new and sells for 17K or so. Another AWD sedan.)
Subarus, Toyotas and Hondas all have a longgg history as safe, reliable, low maintenance vehicles and boast pretty nice fuel economy. Mazda is a relative new comer but the Mazda3 has arrived and conquered it’s class as a subcompact sports sedan and is highly fuel efficient and lack nothing in sportiness! Not sure about the Pontiac, some say they’re reliable, others don’t, but it’s a charmer. One around 21K will nab you an amazing quality interior.
In my opinion, if you want leverage against the snow or rain, you should opt for the Subarus which all have AWD. (all wheel drive). Why not have a little extra safety?
