Importing a Subaru to Ontario Canada?
I am looking at buying a new 2008 Subaru Impreza from the USA, specifically buffalo and I want to know if the dealers will sell to Canadians since the car is approved for import into Canada?? Also, does any one know of the border fees re: import fees into Canada?

1) Only certain American dealers will sell to Canadians. I would just do some calling around and see what you come up with. It’s not a discriminatory thing of course. Some car companies just forbid their dealers to do such a thing – likely for competitive reasons.
2) There are DEFINITELY fees to pay when importing a car into Canada. Like, let’s start with the 5% GST right off the bat. I’m sorry, but the previous poster is out to lunch on this. See the below article for a reference guide. If the previous poster is importing American cars into Canada for free then I can guarantee you that he’s not declaring something and is subsequently engaging in illegal activity.
