What is a better used car Saab or Subaru?
I am looking for a safe reliable used wagon under $5000 with aprox 100,000 mi on it. Weighing in all the options which would you guys say is a safer bet? I owned an 07 subaru for 2 years and loved it but i am now looking into an older used car 99-03. Safety is also a key issue for me. The specific models i am looking into are the impreza wagon or the 9-3 or 9-5 saab wagon. thanks
Subaru and Saab are about equal in safety terms.
Subarus are far more reliable, and as others have mentioned, will be cheaper to maintain and repair.
Someone else mentioned Saab has better legroom, and I can’t agree — my Saab had equally good legroom in the front seat, and equally crappy legroom in the rear seat. But a lot will depend on if you are comparing similar models.
Oh, and the Saab 9-2 is (was?) a Subaru Impreza, so in that case, it doesn’t even matter…
