2008 Subaru Legacy Remote programmed right but will not start car?
I bought another all-in-one remote/key for my 2008 Subaru Legacy. I followed the directions in the manual to program the remote and it will unlock, lock, and open the trunk with no problems but it will not start the car.
When I put the new key in the ignition the security light on the dash lights up and when I attempt to start the car it does nothing.
I know this is an immobilizer issue but since the key was programmed into the car correctly why wont it start?
The key has to be registered also with the immobilizer system. Look in your owner’s manual under immobilizer and see if it tells you there how to do it. If it has the navigation system, there is an option on the screen there to register the key.
