How do you fix a Loose shifter on a Manual Subaru legacy wagon yr 96?
I have a 1996 Manual Subaru Legacy Wagon my Shifter is extremely loose and i need to fix it. Not only is it hard to shift but i am learning Standard and it very hard with a loose shifter. Any help would be Greatly appreciated.
My shifter is loose as in there is a lot of play when its in gear as if its in neutral.
What do you mean by “loose”? That there’s a lot of slop in the action and it sometimes grinds or sticks when changing gears? You could need a clutch adjustment, or you might have worn or damaged synchronization rings in your shift mechanism, which I think is very likely.
