Mom left her keys in the ignition for a few hours, does the 2002 Subaru Forester have an anti-theft measure that kills the engine? Other option may be that the battery is dead, but could leaving the keys in the ignition for a few hours with nothing else on, car locked and everything, really take that much juice?
does the 2002 Subaru Forester have an anti-theft measure that kills the engine NO IT DOES NOT only prevents it from starting. the battery is probally discharged so so might be able to jump start the car. but after wards charge the battery with a charger and do not let the alt. do it.yes there is that much of a battery drain on the car with just the key on in the run position. you have all the power going to the electrical system ,coil starter relay fuses and ecm and so on .
