how to install a 3.3 subaru engine in a vw vanagon?
wow! you are going for the gusto!
i recently put a 2.2 subaru engine (ej22) in my 87 Vanagon Syncro and it was nothing nice let me tell you. i did all the work in my garage using hand tools, a cherry picker and an electric impact gun.
I used Kennedy Engineered Products ( http://www.kennedyeng.com ) for the subie engine to vw transmission adaptor plate, engine mount, flywheel, exhaust header, coolant burp valves and wiring instructions. the wiring was a total bear…i had to send it out to get repaired…total nightmare. the extra horsepower of the subaru engine grenaded the already failing transmission on my van. that svx motor is even more powerfull, so you better get ready for it.
