Does Subaru Forester run on regular gas? I am planning to buy one – also thinking of CRV?

I think that I’m more qualified to answer your question because I just had a Honda CR-V which I traded in for a Subaru Impreza Outback Sport in April. I have a friend in New York that has the Forester and loves it. I must tell you that I loved the CR-V! Living in a very hilly section of Connecticut and having a 50 mile commute to work I always needs something with all-wheel drive. My driveway is horrendously steep and I’m happy to report that I never got stuck in the CR-V regardless of how icy it became. If gas wasn’t so expensive I would have traded the CR-V in for another one. And the CR-V and Impreza (I would also assume the non-turbo Forester) both run perfectly fine on regular gas so don’t buy into the myth that you need premium gas.
Please test drive both the Forester and the CR-V and see what you think. Perhaps you should also add the Toyota RAV-4 to your test drive list.
Personally I like the looks of the CR-V better.
