Are Subaru’s relatively easy to work on and maintain? Do they cost alot to maintain?
I have a 1999 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, and this summer I want to do some work on it, just tuning it up, etc. I also want to learn a little bit more about cars as I do this! Are subarus hard cars to work on? Do they cost alot for new parts/ maintenance?
And just so you guys know I have a friend that has put together three cars already so hes going to help me.

Subaru’s are fun to work on, a pretty basic design and easy to get at. I would get a repair manual from your local auto parts store for reference, especially when doing the timing belt so you line everything up properly. Parts are average for cost, genuine Subaru parts are best and can be purchased on-line for a reasonable price.
