Putting a turbo in a 1998 Subaru Impreza?
I want to install a turbo kit in my 1998 Subaru Impreza it’s manual 5spd. with 101k miles on the engine what are somethings I should do first to the engine before I install a turbo? What is the difficulty level of this project?
i don’t know much about impreza engines, but most of the time when adding a turbo onto a naturaly aspirated engine, you’d have to get better pistons, connecting rods and etc because sometimes stock parts aren’t built to handle a boost and they will malfunction prematurely. now some cars have really strong engines like the miata or supra, but impreza i have no clue. maybe check out a subaru impreza forum where people might’ve already did what your thinking about doing.
