Anyone with a 2002 Subaru Impreza RS?
I’m looking at the possibility of buying a used 2002 Impreza RS. Can anyone out there tell me if they recommend the car? Any problems you’ve had? Is it a fun car to drive? I know it’s not as intense as the WRX, but I’d appreciate any info/impressions you have. Thanks a lot.
RS’s are decent in my opinion. I do have a WRX and i do wish that i had an STI. If you get the RS, you’ll probably wish you had the WRX. 
Off the bat, I dont know of any real problems with the car except i’ve heard that the transmission is a bit weak. I own the 03 wrx and others have said the same thing. I have had no problems with my transmission and I dont drive it hard, so why should i be afraid?
I bought my car in 05 for 14,800 with about 43k miles on it and everything else was in great shape. Perhaps you could just save about 2-3k and just grab a WRX.
Yes, the wrx is fun to drive and i’m sure the RS is just as fun with less hp. Other than the HP, you still have the awd to play with. I belive the RS comes with weaker sway bars for turns, if that matters. Hope this helps!
